Well January was a great month for landscape images especially around home as the weather produced some gorgeous scenes for photographing. We had frosts, hoar frosts, snow and then in February a trip to RSPB Arne and RSPB Radipole Lake gave me a chance to take some wildlife images.
The snow was interesting, we didn’t have much but the dawn produced an orange sky just after a heavy snow shower which added to the atmosphere.
The next day the snow had more or less gone but at -7°C there was a heavy hoar frost again producing photo opportunities so it was down to the Wilson/Haines bridge for taking photographs.
The night produced more snow so I headed for the Stone Circle but that morning it was overcast and grey, the images I took I converted to monochrome as there wasn’t much colour in the landscape. I was quite pleased with the images something a little different again.
This cold snap was well worth the walks, see my post Winter Chill
A few more images I took when out and about, particularly a trip up Okeford Hill on a frosty slightly misty morning.
The weather turned a little better mid February so a visit to Arne and Radipole, we didn’t see as much as we hoped but the Dartford Warblers at Arne were always a pleasure to see.
